An excerpt of the Republic Times on how to control beetles or grub worms

For Beetles:

Physical removal or trapping the beetles may provide adequate protection for small plantings when beetle numbers are low. However, the presence of beetles on or in the proximity of a plant will attract more.

Chemical control is another option by treating with an insecticide. For optimal control, apply in the afternoon when beetles are most active. Chemical control comes in either liquid or granular applications.

For Grubs:

Chemical control might be the best solution to get rid of grubs. Products such as Merit are a systemic insecticide that is absorbed after being watered into the ground through the foliage of the plant and down into the root, thus controlling the grubs from attacking your lawn or ornamental. There are a number of other products out on the market today suck as SEVEN or Milky Spores, which can also help control these pests.

By taking the necessary steps in controlling these bugs, your rose bushes, fruit trees and lawn will look its best!
