In this case study, the client Kathy B., had a new pool installed and wanted curb appeal. She was also having drainage issues and asked that we come up with a solution that would fix the issue.

Process

Before beginning the project, we met with the client to get a better idea of what she wanted her landscaping to look like around the pool. Since there wasn't any pre-existing landscaped areas, we quoted her what it would cost to install landscaping (lights, plants, stones, rock, etc) around the pool. Also as a part of this quote, we quoted her what it would cost to eliminate the standing issue the front by installing a drainage catch basin and re-routing the water.

Summary of Project

As a company that specializes in lawn care and landscaping, we knew we could install our clients landscaping and create a modern look around her new pool area. Not only did we meet our client’s needs, but we also added value to her home, by adding landscaping around the pool and installing a drainage system that will eliminate standing water for years to come.

In this case, our client wanted to add landscaping around the newly installed pool. She also wanted us to take care of a standing water issue by installing a new drainage system.

To start off, we consulted with the client and got a better understanding of what she wanted to accomplish during the course of the project. While meeting with the client, we assessed what needed to be done and discussed the look she wanted around the pool. Taking all aspects of the project into consideration, we prepared an estimate for the materials and labor hours.

Once the estimate was accepted and we had a plan in place, our crew began digging a trench around the entire pool and installing Bella Border stones, boulders, weed barrier fabric, plants and multi-color gravel. The plants installed were Skypencil Holly, Green Velvet Boxweek, Stella De Ora Daylily and Maiden Grasses.

When that was complete, they installed Volt LED landscape lighting around the pool to light up the area at night (and to add extra beauty).

After all that was complete, they began working on the standing water issue by installing a drainage catch basin to collect the sitting water near the rear of the house. An ADS 4" pipe was installed underground in order to re-route the water to the front near the road. Once that was done, the crew began cleaning up the job site and renovating the lawn by grading the soil, seeding and installing straw.

As with any job, once it was all complete we met with the client to ensure satisfaction and receive feedback.
